Which leaves us with the following list of my best guess episode names for @darkmaterials season 2: 1. A Children’s World 2. Among the Witches 3. Lighted Fliers 4. The Tower of Angels 5. The Shaman 6. Screen Language 7. Alamo Gulch #NewWorldsAwait #HisDarkMaterials 15/15
If the story permits it that is. After more consideration, I find it more likely that “The Shaman” and “Screen Language” will be in to separate episodes. Episode 5 would be “The Shaman” (or less likely “Theft”), while episode 6 would be “Screen Language” or “Æsahættr” 11/15
I’m really not sure which of those two would win, but let’s settle on “Æsahættr” for now, even though “Screen Language” probably is more relevant to the contents. That leaves “Alamo Gulch” and “Bloodmoss” for the last episode. 12/15
Either of those could be fitting for episode 7, but I feel like “Alamo Gulch” deserves an episode title. Even if there would be no reference to Alamo Gulch itself in the episode, the title would be a nice easter egg for fans of the books. 13/15
That leaves “The Shaman” or “Screen Language” for episode 5. It all depends on which of those two storylines get the most focus in that episode, and how far the story has come at that point. I have two alternate theories on this point. 9/15
Either the fifth episode will be “The Shaman”, and the sixth “Screen Language”, or the fifth will be “Screen Language” and the sixth “Æsahættr”. I’m not confident they’d want episode names in Old Norse, but it would still be a fitting episode name. 10/15
Some of the contents of chapter 2 will likely be moved to the second episode, which I guess would then be called “Among the Witches”. After episode 2 it becomes much more difficult to predict, so I started excluding the chapter names I didn’t feel were dramatic enough. 6/15
“Airmail Paper”, “The Rolls-Royce” and “The Belvedere” all sound too boring. Additionally, I’m pretty sure there will be no Rolls-Royce involved. The belvedere in question is also not important enough to warrant its own episode title. 7/15
Episode 3 will most likely be named either “Trepanning” or “Lighted Fliers”, I’m leaning towards the last one. Episode 4 I assume will be “The Tower of Angels”. There’s no way they’re skipping such an awesome episode title. Of course, I could get the exact episode wrong. 8/15
